‘Outstanding’ in all areas

We set out to change perceptions of the under-performing, under-subscribed Pickering High School as it evolved into one of Hull’s first Academies. To create a brand promise and message to launch their state-of-the-art new building that inspires students and their families and puts education in Hull on the map for the right reasons.

OBJECTIVES

To attract, influence and market Sirius Academy to the core 11-16 student market, including parents/carers living in Hull and East Riding to raise demand such that Sirius Academy was a first choice application.

PROCESS

Marketing an academy before it was built was a challenge, however a unique prospectus design integrated with an exciting digital campaign hit home to its target market delivering an astonishing 64.7%* return over the application target.

RESULTS

The campaign resulted in 64.7% over the application target, but the good news didn’t stop there, nominations for five Euro RSCG HEIST awards elevated the academy to the national stage; positioning Sirius in the top three UK education marketing campaigns.

The final accolade came when Sirius was awarded ‘Outstanding in all areas’ by Ofsted, a true honour for the staff and students.
