Immortalising a city’s culture through community-led public relations

In the lead-up to the Hull City of Culture 2017 announcement, we saw a unique public relations opportunity to create a lasting legacy in celebration of a campaign launch for one of the fastest UK broadband services.

Our idea: to encourage local people to decorate the city’s street exchange cabinets – which we christened #CultureCabs – as works of art representing ‘what Hull means to you’? A PR competition inspired over 50 submissions in two weeks and sparked even more attractive public relations opportunities.
