The Leeds band will play on Tuesday 26 January alongside local band, LIFE, as part of a week full of events at the venue on De Grey Street, Hull. Tickets are available from hullboxoffice.co.uk priced £8 + booking fee or £10 on the door.

Now in its third year, Independent Venue Week is back taking part from Monday 25 – Sunday 31 January 2016 with a week-long series of gigs all around the UK. The 7 day long campaign which runs nationally but with a local grassroots focus has grown again from last year with 120 now venues taking part, from Aberdeen to Exeter and Belfast to Norwich.

Independent Venue Week celebrates small venues such as the Adelphi, which have proved significant cultural breeding grounds and haunts for artists, designers, poets, actors and comedians. The very make-up of a venue environment with small audiences inhabited by the next generation of young intelligent politically aware creatives invites a challenge to the current trends, styles and dominant attitudes.

This week is another great chance for us celebrate what’s unique and special about the club. Support your local arts venue. Long live the Adelphi.

Alongside Eagulls, Hull punks, LIFE will take to the stage, fresh from making Radio 1’s best of BBC Introducing list 2015, as part of their tour in support of Independent Venue Week which will see them travel across the UK.

During the tour, LIFE will also be running free workshops for young musicians in each city as a way of reaching out, sharing their own experiences and ideas to help encourage creativity. Stuck in an industry dominated by co-writes and privilege LIFE aim to bring something authentic, relevant and refreshing to the party.
