Sowdens team flying high after winning big at People in Business Awards
Fighting off tough competition
As we near the end of our 40th year, we’re riding high after winning the Team Impact (>11 People) award at this year’s People in Business (PIB) Awards. We fought off tough competition in our category to claim one of the top prizes at the ceremony, which recognises inspiring businesses that stay ahead of the curve.

Talent wins games but teamwork wins championships
Being crowned winners at PIB has come at a great time for our agency, and comes after an exciting year in which we were also considered as one of the Best Small Digital Agencies of the year at the Northern Digital Awards.
We’re a collaborative group and everything we do requires a strong team ethic and comradery – without working together we wouldn’t be able to create the stand-out campaigns and achieve the incredible results that we’re known for.
We work as a team and we win as a team, here at Sowdens everyone counts and we’re thankful for the talented individuals who are critical to our success.
Standing out from the crowd
Our success is even more notable considering that around 150 nominations were sent in across all categories from high-performing companies in a wide range of sectors. An incredible night of success was also complemented by a special mention for our Senior Account Manager, Beth Gray.
Following a fantastic year, she was given an honorary shout-out from the judges in the ‘Above and Beyond’ category, which raises the profile of talented, hardworking and dynamic individuals in the region.

“Sowdens were worthy winners”
One of the event organisers, Elly Taylor, was full of praise for the high quality of our submission:
“We were over the moon this year to receive so many submissions from a range of sectors and business sizes. The calibre was the best we’ve seen in the four years of the awards and the judges were especially impressed with the quality of submissions.
“The Sowden & Sowden nomination stood out as it was fun, succinct, and the narrative made the judges feel like they truly got to know the agency’s employees, ethos, and goals. Alongside that, the incredible achievements of Sowden & Sowden made them a worthy winner.”

Going above and beyond
Given the calibre of other companies that were shortlisted, Co-Owner and Managing Director, Polly Sowden, is full of admiration for her award-winning team:
“Whatever the project, whatever the challenge, our people always pull together to make a game-changing impact for our clients. Every single day, I’m proud to see our team go above and beyond to find creative solutions and deliver exceptional results.
“It was great to hear Beth get a mention and we had an unforgettable evening with the team. Congratulations to all the other awards winners, and thanks to category sponsors Cobus Communications, and everyone who helped to organise such a memorable event.”
