Read moreAt a time where the country reaches a crucial point in the battle against Covid-19 and clear communication has never been more critical, we’re proud to have had the opportunity to support our clients CHCP in setting up a safe environment for delivering life-saving Covid vaccines at the brand-new Hull City Hall vaccination centre.
With the wellbeing of everyone on-site naturally a top priority, enabling people to navigate their way around the centre quickly, safely and easily was key to its development, helping to ensure vaccines can be delivered in an efficient and orderly way.
Facing a race against time to get the new vaccination centre up and running, CHCP called on our design expertise to develop wayfinding signage within 24 hours to help make this happen – an impromptu project we were more than delighted to get on board with.
The signage offers a clear means of communication to help people quickly make their way through the centre whilst following Covid guidelines, improving safety and streamlining the vaccine roll-out.
Alongside rolling out this vital signage for the centre, we also took the lead on a paid-for social media marketing campaign to encourage volunteers and vaccinators to get involved in the vaccination efforts.
With the online recruitment campaign reaching 104,672 people and generating close to 5000 click-throughs so far, it’s safe to say there’s been a flurry of interest from people across the city looking to play their part in the fight against Covid-19.
And as the number of people in the UK who have had at least one dose of the Covid vaccine passes 12 million, we’re incredibly humbled to have been able to support CHCP in getting the vaccination roll-out underway right here on our home turf.
As an added bonus, feedback from CHCP’s Communications and Social Business Lead Lucy Flower had us all smiling:
“We’re thrilled to have begun rolling out Covid vaccines from our new vaccination hub here in Hull City Hall, which is the culmination of a massive collective effort from staff, volunteers, partners and Hull residents to get the site up and running within an incredibly short timeframe.
“I’m incredibly grateful for Sowdens’ help in getting our message out there and encouraging people to get involved. We’ve had over 300 volunteers sign up already, in part thanks to Sowdens’ ability to turn projects around in really quick time, which has been a real asset in making this fantastic achievement a reality.”
The vaccination centre, which opened on Wednesday 10th February, has already made significant strides in rolling out the Covid vaccine, with as many as 1000 people expected to receive the jab every day once it reaches full capacity.
After what was an incredibly tight turnaround to deliver the critical project, our Director Polly is hugely proud of the achievement, from both the Sowdens team and the Hull community:
“In the midst of a third lockdown and with the Covid-19 pandemic already having taken a huge toll on people’s lives, I feel proud that the Sowdens team have been able to contribute to providing residents of Hull with a glimmer of hope by supporting the local vaccination effort.
“The rapid development of the new vaccination centre is a timely reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together to make a difference, and we are honoured to have been a part of this at what is a very critical time for the country.”
