We’re celebrating today because we’ve won the full marketing contract for Beverley Folk Festival, taking place from 19-21 June 2015, providing full-service marketing support for the award-winning festival, with a particular focus on the website, branding and social media.
Both Beverley Folk Festival and Sowdens have played a major part in the events and marketing scene in the region, with both of us celebrating 32 years in business this year.
Polly Sowden commented: “We’re excited and proud to have been approached to deliver the marketing for Beverley Folk Festival. It’s a testament to the sheer drive and innovation of the whole team and our work and determination towards raising our region’s profile within the UK and putting Beverley firmly on the map.”
“We’re elated to be adding another major festival to our already existing strong event portfolio which includes Hull Fashion Week, Hull Folk Festival, which attracted over 7,500 visitors in 2014 and Yum! Food Festival, which attracted 32,000 visitors in 2014.”
Beverley Folk Festival is a ticketed weekend event for 5,000 music fans. It will be located for the third year at Beverley Racecourse, and provides a mix of traditional and contemporary folk music, as well as comedy, literature and family activities, making it one of the region’s most popular festivals.
Our aim is to take this one step further, with a focused social media strategy to raise awareness of the festival on a regional and national level, driving tourism spend and footfall in the run-up to 2017.
Geoff Sargieson, Chairman of Beverley Folk Festival commented: “We wanted to develop the festival having recently moved to a bigger site. There’s potential for making the festival bigger and better, and to do this we wanted to enlist the help of a creative marketing agency. We’ve seen the work Sowdens do for other local festivals and their level of creativity and so we’re delighted that they will be working with us to develop our festival for future years to come.”
