Sowdens appointed to market Hull’s unique Freedom Festival

After weeks of keeping it under our hats, we’re absolutely delighted to be able to announce our appointment to work with the Freedom Festival Arts Trust as their marketing agency for 2016 and 2017.

To work on the city’s most unique cultural event is something we’ve had in our sights for many years. We have a strong pedigree in the culture, media and arts sectors and will use our vast knowledge and experience of marketing events such as the Hull Folk Festival and #Adelphi30 birthday celebrations of the cityÍ›’s iconic Adelphi Club.

As the festival enters its ninth year we will build on the already well established brand and refresh the website, print, digital and event-based marketing in the lead-up to the 2016 festival – to be held next year on 2nd – 4th September.

We’re passionate about the city and feel it’s important that we don’t lose sight of why Freedom Festival is special to Hull. We’ll be looking at new ways of utilising marketing as a platform to underline Wilberforce’s legacy and to keep sharing the festival’s core values.

Jenny Howard-Coombes, Executive Director, Freedom Festival Arts Trust said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Sowdens on board. We look forward to working with them and building on the work done to date in growing the festival’s reputation, on a local, national and international level.”

We’ll be working alongside Laura O’Donnell of Autumn Comms, who will continue to lead the festival’s PR activity.

Keep up to date with all the latest Freedom news on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
