Realigning a national engineering brand

Engineering a fitting website and brand identity for the Spencer Group

The Spencer Group, one of the UK’s largest independently owned engineering firms, is always coming up with extraordinary solutions to complex problems. However, getting that across to their prospective clients was a challenge they needed our help to solve.

Visually striking design

After analysing the group’s website and looking at what national and international competitors offered, we plotted the user journey to create a website design that’s visually striking but also functional and easy to navigate.

The group’s website is now a fitting showcase for its incredible portfolio of work, utilising powerful imagery and poignant film to tell the Spencer story.

What’s new?

We introduced a projects section, showcasing projects from each of the key sectors, all displayed via a filter system that allows the user to select the sector they’re interested in whilst linking them back to the relevant sector page.

The whole site uses alt tags and SEO-focused content to drive traffic to the site, with multiple touch points to gather customer data and contact forms across various pages. Take a look here >

Think branding

We also realigned the group’s branding, utilising the ‘Think’ vision and values to get across its big ideas: Think performance; Think engineering; Think people; Think extraordinary.

A Spencer Group spokesperson commented:

“Working with Sowdens helped us realise our ambitions of widening our visibility online, making our website a vital sales tool and a great showcase for our projects while reflecting our individual culture and proud history.”
