Read moreWe submitted one of our digital projects to a new award scheme launched by broadband provider KC and the Hull Daily Mail which honours the region’s best in digital technology and we’re happy to report we’ve been shortlisted under the Humber Bondholders category ‘Best Digital Marketing Communication’!
The Awards are supported by digital start-up group C4DI and recognise excellence in 11 categories. In East Yorkshire alone, the digital economy is worth £6.93bn a year and supports 57,600 jobs – so it’s a valuable sector for our region.
The campaign submission was built on social media and leveraging digital marketing to empower the people of Hull. Two weeks of clever digital thinking, engaging social conversation, unique rich media content and a compelling website resulted in national coverage with PR, TV and a digital footprint that reached far and wide. With a combined reach of media outlets, online bloggers, performers and attendees the potential Facebook reach alone was over 1 million people (1023218 to be precise).
We’re looking forward to the awards evening at the new @The Dock building, the brand new £14m centre for digital being built by the Wykeland Group in one of our favourites places in town, the Fruit Market. The awards ceremony will be hosted by BBC technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones and the evening will see the official opening by Martha Lane-Fox, co-founder of travel retailer Lastminute.com and chair of digital skills charity Go On U and the.
The submission couldn’t have been possible without the hard work, collaboration and ideas from local film makers Mark Richardson & Josh Moore and photographers Anna Bean, Ian Rook & Darren Rogers.
Good luck to all the finalists and remember to use #HEYdigitalawards on social!
