Black Delta Movement (winner of the Freedom Festival Bridge stage) will support the headliner alongside one other local band that will be also announced. Both the local bands will be present for the announcement.
Alan Raw, of the BBC Introducing Show; Humberside, is set to launch the Saturday 4 Oct headliners this Saturday, 20 September. Listeners are asked to tune in to the show on 95.9FM and on DAB on Saturday 20 September at 8pm to hear the reveal of the Saturday night acts. The show will also be available on BBC iPlayer following the announcement.
Adelphi30 will see 7 live music events over 7 nights running from 29 Sept – 5 Oct at The New Adelphi Club, 89 De Grey Street, Newland Avenue, Hull.
On October 1st 2014 The Adelphi Club in Hull will celebrate 30 years as a small underground live music venue. A steadfast member of this scene since 1984, and recently listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2015, the venue, alongside its brother and sister venues dotted around the UK (King Tut’s, The Leadmill etc.) has provided a platform for the careers of bands such as Radiohead, Stone Roses, Pulp, Primal Scream, Oasis, The Housemartins, Green Day, Pavement, The Manics, Inspirals, My Bloody Valentine to name just a few.
Alan Raw commented: “We’re so excited about being invited to announce the Saturday night band in what will be the Adelphi’s landmark week of celebrations. The headliner is one we’ve got enormous respect for and we know there’ll be queues around the block to get tickets once they’re announced. The Adelphi means an enormous amount to us at BBC Introducing on Radio Humberside and we’re delighted to be involved in shouting about the Adelphi 30 Celebrations.”
Polly Sowden, one of the event organisers commented: “The full week has been programmed carefully and the outcome is very special. Adelphi will welcome back many music acts that have contributed to Adelphi’s heritage. Saturday night will be a special one off show, expect surprises, expect the unexpected…”
