Some nights feel bigger than just an event.
Last week Polly, Ryan and Ruby headed along to the Tigers Trust A Question of Sport fundraiser at the MKM Stadium and it was one of those evenings that reminds you what community really looks like when people come together.
A packed room, plenty of laughs, some very competitive quiz moments and, most importantly, a shared purpose. Supporting a charity that makes a genuine difference to lives across Hull and East Yorkshire.

More than just a fun night out
Yes, the competition was lively. Yes, the players team kept hold of their title for a second-year running. But the real heart of the evening came from hearing about the impact Tigers Trust has every single day.
From sports programmes and wellbeing initiatives to education opportunities for young people, the work being done across the region is powerful. Hearing personal stories from participants on the night brought that to life in a way that statistics alone never can.
And speaking of stats, the evening raised an incredible £16,000. A brilliant result that will go directly back into supporting communities across Hull and East Yorkshire.

Why events like this mean something to us
At Sowdens, East Yorkshire has always been home turf. It’s our back garden, our stomping ground.
Yes, we work with national and international clients, but some of our strongest and longest relationships are right here on our doorstep. Organisations like CHCP and Ron Dearing UTC are brilliant examples of partners we have worked alongside for many years, helping tell stories that matter locally and beyond.
So being part of a night like this feels natural. It’s about supporting the place we call home and the people who make it such a strong creative and community driven region.
A long history of backing purpose led projects
Working with charities, sports organisations and not for profit projects has always been something we care deeply about.
We were lucky enough to support the Brownlee Foundation as they approached their ten year anniversary, helping celebrate the legacy of Alistair and Jonny Brownlee through a refreshed brand, a showcase film and digital storytelling that captured their sporting spirit and community mission. That work included volunteering at events and helping create PR moments that put the Foundation’s impact front and centre.
Closer to home, we helped Hull’s New Adelphi Club celebrate its 30th anniversary with the #Adelphi30 campaign, combining film, digital content and live online engagement to connect one of the city’s most iconic venues with a whole new generation.
We have also rolled up our sleeves to build fully bespoke fundraising experiences, including a custom Plinko style game for HEY Children’s University that became the centrepiece of their annual ball and helped drive serious fundraising on the night.
Different projects, different audiences, but the same thread running through all of them. People. Community. Storytelling with purpose.

The power of showing up
What stood out most on the night at Tigers Trust was the energy in the room. Businesses, supporters and local faces all showing up, getting involved and backing something that really matters.
We came away reminded that creativity and community go hand in hand. Sometimes the best ideas and the strongest connections happen when you step away from the desk and into the room.
Huge credit to everyone who helped make the evening such a success and to Tigers Trust for the work they continue to do across our region.
We’re already looking forward to the next one.
