The brand new C4Di building couldn’t have been a better place for staging Hull’s inaugural Digital Awards. The smell of freshly painted walls (all the stops were pulled out to get the place ready!) and the light projection onto the neighbouring Deep created an exciting and intriguing backdrop for our first glimpse at Hull’s new digital hub.
As The BBC’s technology correspondent and our host for the evening, Rory Cellan-Jones said, the next Amazon or Snapchat could be born within these walls. It’s exciting times for our great city and the buzz was evident to see.
The fact that we walked away with an award was an absolute bonus. Our campaign for the #Adelphi30 celebrations, with no budget, scooped Best Digital Marketing Campaign for creative and cross platform digital promotion, sponsored by Bondholders. We were surprised and honoured to be recognised alongside so many other successful companies and projects, such as EYMS and Studio Kiwi in our own category.
The win is a credit to everyone involved, not just the team here at Sowdens but the many volunteers and Adelphi supporters that took part in the promotion, tickets sales and creation of digital content that led to 7 events, 7 sell-outs and global online reach. The submission couldn’t have been possible without the hard work, collaboration and ideas from local film makers Mark Richardson & Josh Moore and photographers Anna Bean, Ian Rook & Darren Rogers.
If the talent in that room was anything to go by, the future for Hull’s digital economy is certainly bright and we can’t wait to be involved.
A multi-channel campaign to help the college stand out in a crowded education landscape.
