The news came through this week that our marketing campaign for the brand new Ron Dearing UTC has been shortlisted for a national Heist Award, which celebrates extraordinary marketing in the education sector.
These esteemed awards are considered to be the Oscars of education marketing and we’re delighted to be listed amongst some of the UK’s leading Universities in the tough category of Best Undergraduate Student Recruitment Initiative.
To be recognised as a brand new school before the doors are even open is an accolade in itself and we’re chuffed to be putting Hull on the map once again.
Our campaign, to launch and market Hull’s first University Technical College, needed a creative approach to capture the attention of students and parents. No building, no staff, no proven track record and a bleak picture for UTCs nationally… we needed to stand out.
Our #GetTheEdge campaign did just that – resulting in being 33% over subscribed with a ROI of 1501%. By January 2017, five months after admissions opened, we’d received 320 applications against our original target of 150.
